Event description:

This is the 10th year of this popular cross country endurance mountain bike race but only the second time it has been conducted at Atherton. In 2012 the event was relocated to the newly constructed mountain bike trails at Mt Baldy, just outside Aherton. For the first seven years the event, formerly known as the Herberton 8 Hour, was based at the Tepon Equestrian Park via Herberton. Elev8XCM (also known as the Atherton 8 Hour) uses a 10 km section of the dedicated mountain bike trails at Mt Baldy, Atherton. Competition is open to solo riders, pairs and teams of three or four. Junior non-competitive events also organised. Plenty of prizes are donated by the event's major sponsor and local businesses. Limited camping is available on site but a range of accommodation options can be found in and around Atherton. Excellent food and refreshments on sale all weekend.
